Elden Ring is looking to be the best game of 2022 so far. It has everything that a souls-like game should have and then adds more ontop of that. However, probably the most refreshing thing about Elden Ring, and this is gonna sound really odd, but the best part about Elden Ring is that it launched on time, without major bugs, and with loads of content. Almost every other recent triple A game thats come out in the past year has released broken, unfinished, unpolished, and often times, unfun. There are too many examples of this. For example, Call of Duty Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, Cyberpunk 2077, and surely some others that I'm forgetting. So, not only did Elden Ring release on time, in a finished state, and with very few bugs, but it's also just straight up fun. Like any other Souls-Like game it's extremely difficult and whose first boss is considered by many to be one of From Softwares most difficult first bosses yet, Margit. This open world RPG has a massive open world to explore and almost every player is guaranteed to have a different experience due to this. For example, I may find a great weapon in a random cave somewhere and use it for my entire game, then, I can go to one of my friends and ask them if they'd heard of it. I then get told off for 5 minutes because that weapon actually sucks compared to something else that they found which was much better. And this process happens way too many times. Every time I go on TikTok theres a video that pops up with some random piece of gear that I've never seen or heard of, even after 50 hours of game time. Overall, the bossess are fun and refreshing, the main quest line is fun and eventful, and the world is well designed. An astounding 10/10 for Elden Ring.
